SUMMARY OF WORK

The Theology Committee has reviewed the current EPC position paper on Divorce and Remarriage.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The Theology Committee has no recommendations to present to the 46th General Assembly.

WORK OF THE COMMITTEE

Following the Reformed tradition of returning to the sources, we have begun a careful study of scripture, the Westminster Standards, other relevant theological works and the EPC Position Paper on Human Sexuality. We are working slowly and deliberately to make sure our understandings are theologically grounded and sound to address the issues and questions given to us.

Beginning the task of revising the current paper on Divorce and Remarriage at this stage would be premature. We plan to begin writing during Fall 2026.

RECOMMENDATIONS (DETAILED)

The Theology Committee has no recommendations to present to the 46th General Assembly.
